Breeding Quality Straight Backed German Shepherds from DDR Working Lines ( East German Line ) & Czech lines mixed with quality Show lines to take and even out the back line and balance out the drive/energy
EAST GERMAN SHEPHERD LINES, the Deutsche Demokratische Republik or “DDR” (1949-1990). The DDR was a political, social, economic, and geographic entity that was physically solidified with the tragically oppressive construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961, and which began its political and physical dissolution with the history-making and liberating fall of that barrier on November 9, 1989.

Just as the geo-political entity formerly known as the “DDR” no longer exists today, the “DDR German Shepherd Dog” is a historical relic of a bygone time and place, and it no longer exists today. Rather, the generations of true “DDR” bloodlines are limited to a span of roughly four decades of breeding and development in the former East Germany. These bloodlines may be found in the third, fourth, and further generations back in the pedigrees of working, sporting, and companion dogs found around the world today.

These modern representatives of the German Shepherd Dog breed, with a genetic heritage in the former DDR bloodlines, have their true provenance determined by the place of their actual birth.

The East German line & Czech line German Shepherd Dogs developed a little differently than German Shepherds from other locations. They have heavier bone structure, big block heads, uniform shoulders and an even top line "STRAIGHT BACKED" like the original German Shepherd Dog was. This line is also strong, athletic and has a high work drive.

Mixing of the lines is determined upon the strength of visible traits and "genetically" of each parent and their lines. So it takes a great measure of thought when I choose what parents to breed with. I have to consider each dog as an individual to see what traits would best compliment what I am trying to produce. I consider temperament, color, size and drive, whether they are from a working line or show line.

But for the most part German Shepherds are very versatile breed of dog no matter what line they are from !

Prior to entering their new homes, puppies must nurse, develop, and grow with their mother and littermates. Puppies should remain with their breeder, mother, and siblings as they grow physically and acquire new social skills with their siblings. The age at which a puppy may go home varies by breed and person, but is typically approximately two months. I will take back or assist re-home your pet at any time, without question.
